Discover the rich tapestry of the past and contribute to a meaningful experience at the DC Day of Archaeology Festival on June 1st. We’re on the lookout dynamic volunteers to join Archaeology in the Community, enriching an event that brings history and learning to life.

Your participation as a volunteer is essential to orchestrating a successful festival, helping set up, interact with visitors, and support local archaeology students and professionals.

    Volunteer Time Slots:

    • Morning Setup (8:30 am - 12:00 pm): Help set the stage for the day by setting up tents, tables, and chairs, and guiding early exhibitors into place.
    • Midday Operations (11:00 am - 2:00 pm): Engage directly with attendees by monitoring visitor counts, staffing the AITC/Info table, and assisting with ongoing activities.
    • Afternoon Close (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm): Wrap up the festival by assisting exhibitors, managing breakdowns of the setup, and ensuring a smooth end to the day.

Volunteers are welcome to participate in one, two, or all three shifts, depending on their availability. Feel free to join us for as long as you can, whether it’s just for a single shift or for the entire day. Each moment you spend with us helps enhance the community’s connection to archaeology.

    Event Details:

Venue: Dumbarton House, 2715 Q St NW, Washington, DC, featuring an outdoor setting with gardens, a brick patio, and ADA-compliant pathways.

Join us as we reflect on the incredible journey of our outgoing leadership team and welcome the new leaders who are ready to take the reins. Together, we'll explore how the promise of change begins with words, but the dedication, determination, and collaborative spirit of our Kiwanis family truly brings those words to life.

During the event, we'll highlight some of our Club's most impactful projects, sharing stories of how we've transformed ideas into actions that have touched lives and enriched our community.
